Il progetto Tracker [1] (l'alternativa freedesktop a Beagle) sembrava un
po' fermo negli ultimi tempi, ma finalmente l'autore del progetto ha
rilasciato una roadmap:

November 2006: Implement an advanced optimised metadata store similar to
rdf triple store complete with metadata relationships. 

December 2006: Implement Live query with HAL support (this is needed for
RhythmBox integration and allows us to pick up music files automatically
when plugging in a usb drive).

January 2007: Finish off outstanding services to be indexed including
emails, chat logs, applications and possibly vCard-based contacts

February 2007: More integration polish such as a new GtkFileChooser,
enhanced search GUI etc

March 2007+ : Subject to it being accepted in GNOME 2.18, we will then
further integrate it into GNOME with Epiphany, Yelp, GEdit and any
others if they are willing...


Se riuscirà a mantenere le promesse forse riusciremo a limitare
l'invasione di Mono su Gnome :D
